i live in Israel, am 23 and have been eating meat, milk, and eggs my entire life. yesterday i decided to watch your famous lecture and was shocked by the information you gave so i have decided to become vegan. all my friends and family eat meat, milk and eggs and they are very resentful of veganism. but i don’t care. i’ve been covering my eyes for too long. i told myself no many excuses. with your information and the fire you cast onto others, i’ve gathered enough strength to make this move.because of you, my sister and girlfriend joined me in my decision and they are vegan too.

Let’s make something clear: You’re my hero. YOU. Not Superman, Spiderman, or Batman. Having you on the same planet makes me feel safer in this world. And if that’s not the meaning of being a hero, then I don’t know what is. I’m humbled to be alive at the same time frame when you are. You’re the best speaker I’ve had the pleasure to listen to. You speak with SO MUCH SENSE. And I’m shocked at how articulate you are. One day they will teach about your activism in history classes. it might be 100 years from now, but it’ll happen. So again, thank you. You’ve changed my life.

In two weeks I’ll be 18. I saw your lecture and because of you I opened my eyes and saw the truth and became vegan. I now feel like a better person, more moral, and less environmentally-damaging. I really appreciate what you’re doing, and wish more people would behave like you. I am so glad that a person like you exists in this world. Because of people like you, the world would can become a better place for all living things. I now understand how wrong speciesism is.

I’m a 16 year old student from Israel. I saw your lecture on YouTube 9 months ago. I was a big meat eater so it took me 2 weeks until I become vegan. I joined the ALF group in Israel. I was able to persuade one of my teachers to became vegan too. In 2 weeks I am going to give lectures in a few classes about veganism and animal rights based on the info you provided in your lecture. Thank you for making me a better person.

Today, the new Big Brother Israel season aired. And there are THREE vegans on the show. Karin, one of the vegans, was asked before entering the house, “When did you last cry and why?” She replied, “I don’t cry very often, but last time I did, I was sobbing watching Gary Yourofsky’s lecture”. You really have no idea what’s been going on here in Israel. THINGS ARE CHANGING. The fact that veganism has been the most repeated word of the night, during one of the most viewed shows in this country (40% of our population watches it), just shows you the impact. Assi Azar, one of the show’s hosts, mentioned his intent to become vegan, too. EVERYONE IS GOING VEGAN. We’re headed in the right direction. And literally it’s ALL thanks to you. If it wasn’t for your lecture, this revolution would’ve never begun. One person has changed almost an entire nation. One person is responsible for so many lives being saved. I should have a poster of you on my wall. I’m forever in awe of you, Gary.

A few days ago I saw your video and I was shocked about the horrific truth you displayed. I was born in the Netherlands and currently live in Israel. Since I watched your video, I cannot think of putting any animal products in my body again. I see myself as an awakened person now living a spiritual life. I’ve watched your speech and am dumbfounded. I’ve removed meat but still have a long way to go to veganism. Two weeks ago my father died of cancer. My mother is a survivor. Me, my brother, sister and mother are all changing slowly. I’m from Israel, by the way! Tal Gilboa, an animal liberation activist, whom you’ve met, is on The Big Brother program last week. The show has an abundance of impact on people and is watched by millions of Israelis two days a week and achieves the highest rating here.

It is now 2 years ago that we saw your lecture on YouTube. Immediately after seeing it, me and my family became vegan. Your lecture transformed our lives completely. We are doing everything we can to spread the message and have even managed to convert some people to be vegan. Life is so magical and precious. Thank you for making us realize that.

I am from Israel. In my school, there are many people into animal rights, and it’s growing larger. I am vegan. You have more impact on the people here in Israel than you think. Your words echo through people’s minds months and years after watching your lecture.
